The following are a collection of questions and answers that we have encountered over the years. If your particular question is not answered, please contact us directly and we will be glad to assist.
Q:
What type of fulfillment services does Sweetwater Logistics specialize in?
A: Sweetwater Logistics is a niche
logistics firm focused on providing small to medium size companies
an edge in terms of their supply chain and logistics operations.
As such, our fulfillment service expertise ranges from direct to
consumer of small order size high frequency volumes to B2B of low
frequency high volume shipments.
Q:
Where are you located? Headquarters and other
facilities?
A: Sweetwater Logistics is headquartered in Charlotte, North
Carolina though we have partner facilities throughout the US.
Q:
Which locations would you recommend using for my
company?
A: This question is best answered not by us with a broad
proclamation. Rather, it depends upon where your product is
sourced from, where your customers are, what are the chosen means of
transport for each transfer and what level of 'contact' you want to
have with your product. Sweetwater Logistics is first and
foremost a logistics partner, not a warehouse or facility owner that
needs to drive your product through our facility.
Q:
What is your average
order
turn time for a product like mine?
A: Naturally this depends upon the product. Our goal is 99.8%
of orders received before 4pm depart the facility the same day.
We have not missed this goal to date.
Q:
What is an average shipping
transit
time for a product like mine?
A: This depends upon your chosen carrier. Sweetwater Logistics
will take an active role with your selection, if asked. We
also provide 'Carrier Scorecards' which allow you a means to
evaluate your carrier and is a powerful tool to inject reliability
and efficiency into your relationship with your carrier.
Sweetwater Logistics will, on your behalf, work directly with
carriers to ensure your desired level of service and expectations
are met.
Q:
Do you offer guarantees for your
order
turn time?
A: Broadly speaking we do not, however, if that is something that
you would like to include in your performance agreement with
Sweetwater Logistics, we are more than willing to discuss it.
Q:
Who will be my main contact if I become a customer?
Where are they located?
A:
Your main contact will be our President, Steve Thomson.
We are a small niche logistics provider founded in the belief that
for us to deliver the highest level of value we need to understand
your goals and business from the top to the bottom of our
organization.
Q:
What does a typical fee structure look like?
A:
Our fulfillment menu rates can be found
here.
Generally speaking we prefer to work with you to design the supply
chain and logistics solution that best fits your needs and
expectations. The fee's generally cover the handling in,
storage, picking of orders, processing the shipping arrangements and
in some instances an administration fee. Our intention is to
convert as much of your current fixed costs to variable costs.
Q:
What is your minimum contract length?
A:
We do not have one. Frankly speaking, if you are
not satisfied, you are going to walk away regardless of a clause in
an agreement. We prefer to ensure that our relationship is
fruitful and lengthy not due to a clause in an agreement, but due to
your satisfaction and continued receipt of value from our services.
Q:
Who do you recommend shipping with?
A:
We recommend that you use the shipping company
or common carrier that best satisfies your own requirements on the
basis of rate, transit time, amenities, tracking capability,
interface ability etc.
Sweetwater Logistics has developed a tool that will direct you
through the process of determining the correct shipping vendor.
It is not our intention to profit from the final decision that you
make, rather we want to aid you in making the correct decision for
your needs.
Q:
What are your standard payment terms?
