COVID March 16th

As we navigate the rapidly evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation together, Sweetwater Logistics is taking extra precautions to keep everyone safe. At this time the following measures have been put into place to ensure such:

  • All workstations are being sanitized multiple times per day (morning, after each break and at the end of the day).
  • Any employee exhibiting symptoms will be asked not to come in or is immediately sent home.
  • Following the CDC guidelines, Sweetwater Logistics will not hold meetings or gatherings of more than 50 people.
  • We will continue to monitor and announce any new information regarding COVID-19 and ensure our employees have the most up to date knowledge.

The current Status:

There are 33 reported COVID-19 cases in North Carolina. As of Saturday evening, March 14, 2020 the Governor closed all schools for at least two weeks. This will have the greatest impact on our employees that suddenly need to find safe and adequate care for their children, which is 45% of our current staff. With that, we will be implementing flexible work hours for any staff member that needs accommodations due to child/family care.

To limit the number of outside risks; we have temporarily halted all use of third-party employees.

We will continue operating, albeit at limited capacity based on the number of employees able to work, noting that their health and safety come first. We fully expect a diminished capacity for the next few weeks.

It is important to note that none of our employees or the people they have been in contact with have received a positive diagnosis.

Carriers:

We have not received notice from FedEx, UPS or the Postal System regarding their inability to ship domestically. USPS International will experience delays to Europe and Asia, understandably.

We highly recommend you communicate with your clients and/or retailers that delays are expected and likely in the coming weeks.

It is Sweetwater Logistics’ goal to stay open and operational through this crisis with the support of our clients and employees. We appreciate your patience as we work through this unprecedented challenge. Please reach out directly if you have any questions or concerns.
